Walk-and-talk Therapy

Walk-and-Talk Therapy combines nature with therapy.

Being outdoors engages all five senses—sight, sound, smell, touch, and taste—helping you feel grounded and present. Tuning into the five sense can help us be with intense emotions and stress.

Observing the changing seasons can reflect our own inner changes; sometimes we feel bright and warm, other times windy and wild, and other times cool or frozen. Seasons teach us how we, just like nature, are always changing.

Walking invites in bilateral movement (or both sides of the body moving together) which can calm the mind and help process challenges. Clients with ADHD and Autism share that movement during therapy helps them feel more relaxed and in touch with natural ways of self-regulating.

Don’t worry! We don’t have to walk continuously, or at all. The park provides covered benches, or we roll out a blanket by a tree or pond.
